Emma Watson: The girl with the magic touch |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |

Emma Watson looks surprisingly grown-up, I think, when I meet her at the Savoy Hotel.
Reclining on a plush cream sofa with short, slicked hair and red lips, wearing a fitted black cocktail dress, she is every inch the sophisticated socialite. Poor Emma Watson, I then counter immediately, having constantly to prove to people like me that she isn’t 11-years-old any more.

Emma Watson, Justin Bieber’s Haircuts Named ‘Most Influential’ |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |
|

Short must be the new long! In a summary of 2011?s stellar style, the Wall Street Journal named Emma Watson‘s pixie and Justin Bieber‘s ‘swish’ the most influential haircuts of the year.
“Hairstylists are being inundated with requests,” the paper reports. “The enthusiasm plays out online, where the fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber.”
According to the Journal, these looks mark a pretty significant change for hairstyle popularity, since for women, “short hair hasn’t been trendy since the ’90s,” and because men “may justifiably feel sheepish about asking for the cut.” (Tell that to the Biebs!)

Emma Watson Happy to Be Back Home Studying at Oxford |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |
|
|
A year of studying abroad is probably a bit less daunting when your destination happens to be your home country.
That’s the situation for Emma Watson, the British actress who’s taking time away from Brown University to study at Oxford – in the same part of England where she grew up.
“It’s really nice … just to have that steady routine and back being home, being around people I love and doing what I love,” Watson, 21, said Sunday at the London premiere of My Week with Marilyn.
Although she’s got her nose in the books, Watson does have some movies in the works, she revealed.
“I’m studying and really excited about my next projects,” she said. “I can’t really talk about them right now, but I am going to try and fit in some film projects next year in between school.”
In My Week with Marilyn, which stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Watson plays Monroe’s wardrobe assistant, Lucy. After the Harry Potter films, she was thrilled to take a role that wasn’t quite as high profile.
“I loved it,” she said. “It was less pressure, but at the same time it was an interesting role, although it was a small role. I loved the script and loved the story, and I’m very interested in Marilyn, so I really wanted to do it.”
“I’m very proud of it,” she added, “and I’m really pleased with my part in it.”
Of Williams, she says, “I thought she was wonderful. Such a thing to take on, to play someone who is so iconic and so loved, and I think she just pulled it off so well. I was so impressed.”

People.com: Emma Watson: Makeup Makes Me Less ‘Pale and English’ |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |
|
|
After countless premieres and red-carpet appearances, Emma Watson has finally found the beauty routine that works for her. Crediting her pixie cut with what she calls a more “experimental” relationship with makeup, the 21-year-old tells Stylelist, “There’s no way to hide when you have short hair. You really have to go for it.”
The secret to her trademark look, which includes flawless skin, bold brows and a pinch of glamour, is an arsenal of reliable beauty tools. “I’m a creature of habit,” she tells Style.com of $45 Giorgio Armani “Beauty Luminous” silk powder (bottom right). “I like to find what works and keep buying it.” She also brightens up with bronzer or blush, like Yves Saint Laurent’s $38 Crème de Blush (top left) because, as Watson puts it, “I am so pale and English.”
But the focal point of Watson’s look is the eye, which she prefers with a bold brow and major lashes. “I get my eyebrows threaded,” she confides. “Blink is really good,” she says of the London-based beauty bar’s line of products, which includes defining pencils (top right).
For that kewpie lash effect, the star looks to $25 “Hypnôse Doll” mascara (bottom left) by Lancôme, for which she is an ambassador. “I’m big into Twiggy so I do bottom lashes and top lashes,” she explains. “This is really cool because it is specifically designed to get that look.”

NYTimes.com: From Wizards to Wallflowers in the Suburbs |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |

NOBODY ever got through high school without being a little aimless and more than a little dramatic. Not so long ago Emma Watson discovered that for herself.
Ms. Watson was in this leafy suburb of Pittsburgh, a 30-minute drive from the glass-and-steel downtown, filming a movie that’s set at Peters Township High School. Every day she arrived at the sprawling campus, with its swim team and banners promoting reading, to experience the youthful rites that, as the Oxfordshire-bred star of the “Harry Potter” franchise from age 10 to 20, had otherwise eluded her.

Emma Watson’s Romantic Shopping Spree in Paris |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |
|

What’s the international sign for a man in love?
Joining a woman shopping.
Such was the scene in Paris on Tuesday when Emma Watson, 21, brought her beau Johnny Simmons, 24, to the City of Light for the week (where the couple also took walks and visited a museum) and he happily joined her as she indulged some retail therapy.
“They seem very in love, very cute,” said an employee at the Maje boutique on rue Saintonge, where the couple spent more than 90 minutes together, kissing often as Watson modeled wares for Simmons.
“She did her own shopping – she knows what she likes,” adds the employee. “She picked out outfits and he made some suggestions, picking out items which she tried on in the dressing cabin, then coming to model for him.”
The Harry Potter star’s haul included:
• One T-shirt emblazoned with a neon pink-toothed tiger
• One neon pink belt (Simmons’s pick, to go with the t-shirt)
• Three scarves: one gray, one beige and one black-and-white checkered
• One black wool knee-length coat with leather sleeves
• One gray wool sweater with white collar
• Black leather booties
• One gray metallic wool sweater
• One checkered sweater
• Black sandals
• One pair skinny jeans
• Assorted dresses
Total cost: 2200 Euros, or approximately $3,200. Helpful boyfriend who tags along: Priceless.

Emma Watson Going to Oxford, Then Back to Brown University |
| Filed Under: News & Rumor |
|
|
Emma Watson is spending her junior year abroad — in her home country.
The 21-year-old Harry Potter actress made headlines this year with her educational ups and downs. It was initially reported that the star planned to transfer out of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island amid reports that she was bullied and hounded for her fame.
“I’m still a student at Brown,” the British star told the Virginia Pilot recently. “It’s just that I’ll spend my third year abroad – at Oxford,” she added of the famed Cambridge, England institution.
“Then I’ll return to Brown to complete my last year,” she explained.
Just last month, Watson shot down the rumors that she was tormented at the Ivy League school, leading her to drop out altogether.
“I’ve never even been asked for an autograph on campus. I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook,” she told the Sunday Times Magazine.
Still she said at the time she “was in denial,” during time on campus. “I wanted to pretend I wasn’t as famous as I was. I was trying to seek out normality, but I kind of have to accept who I am, the position I’m in and what happened.”

The boy wizard has vanquished the dark knight and a band of pirates with a record-setting magic act at both the domestic and international box office.
Warner Bros. estimates that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ took in $168.6 million domestically from Friday to Sunday. That beats the previous best opening weekend of $158.4 million, also held by Warner Bros. for 2008′s Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight.”
Overseas, the film added $307 million in 59 countries since it began rolling out Wednesday, topping the previous best international debut of $260.4 million set in May by Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
